Online payment is preferred. Payment is due before your athlete enters the gym to tryout. If a player does not make a team a full refund will be granted.
2024-25 Season Tryouts will take place on Sunday, September 15th at Cambridge-Isanti High School (CIHS). Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your posted tryout time. Parents must accompany their child to the registration table to confirm all registration steps have been completed. Please register ahead of time so that the check-in process goes smoothly. Tryouts are closed to spectators, parents will need to wait outside the gym.
GIRLS ~ GRADES 3-8: 12:00 PM-2:00 PM
BOYS ~ GRADES 3-5: 2:30 PM-4:30 PM
BOYS ~ GRADES 6-8: 5:00 PM-7:00 PM

Make-Up Tryouts
Every effort should be made to tryout on Sunday, 9/15 during the designated time slot.
Girls: Monday September 16th, 7:30 pm at CIHS, Update!!
Boys: Monday September 16th, 7:30 pm at CIHS
Tryouts take place in September and practices typically begin the last week of October or first week of November. Each team will practice 1-2 times per week which equates to around 25-30 practices for the year. Practices will not take place over Winter Break. Coaches will determine the tournament schedule and will play in 6 to 8 tournaments on average. Almost all tournaments are 1 day (either Saturday or Sunday) with 3 games played. The State Tournaments are in the first couple weekends of March depending on the age group. Some tournaments charge spectator entry fees, while others may not.
Last season the MYAS 3rd Grade League was a great success for our Boys and Girls Bluejacket teams. Hoop Boosters will be having our 3rd grade teams play again in the MYAS 3rd Grade League. This will be a great introduction to travel basketball to prepare the players and family's for years to come! Hoop boosters will take care of registering the teams. Click Here for more info!
Volunteer checks can be turned in at the Tryout, Parent Meeting, or at the Tip-off Night payable to Hoop Boosters for $200 per player/Max $400 per family. This check will be shredded at the end of the season if you have fulfilled your volunteer commitment.
This year the volunteer commitment will be as follows:
We will be using Dibs, which is an online sign-up program to help with scheduling of Varsity games and the Bluejacket Classic Tournament in January. You will receive 2 hours for each JV or Varsity concession slot completed. You will receive 1 hour for the mandatory parent meeting night. You will get 1 credit for helping at the Bluejacket Classic.
This summer we have used the unfulfilled volunteer checks to provide Sunday evening Youth Only Open gyms and the gym time for Training Sessions with Jared Berggren of Catalyst Training.
Parent Meeting will be held on October 13th at CIHS Cafeteria. At this meeting you will be introduced to the Hoop Booster Board Members and the Varsity Boys and Girls Head Coaches. This meeting will discuss our Player, Parent, and Coaches expectations for the season. Any questions are welcome. This meeting will be held at Cambridge Isanti High School in the cafeteria.

Girls: 7 pm
